Photographer of the year chosen by the Guardian: Goran Tomasevic

Goran Tomasevic has been chosen by the Guardian's photo team as their agency photographer of the year. The Reuters's photojournalist is a veteran war photographer, covering conflict for over 20 years in countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt and Syria. He is now based in Nairobi, Kenya. During the year 2013 Goran Tomasevic has mainly covered the conflict in Syria and the Westgate shopping centre attack in Kenya.
